Aligning a distant subject like the Moon with a much closer bird can make the two appear to interact within a single frame. Storks are especially striking subjects because of their large wingspans, long legs and distinctive silhouettes. Similar carefully timed photographs have captured storks and other birds crossing directly in front of a crescent Moon.
