Back in 2017 I sought out to transition my scenic and stage design work to public exhibition and scale. I was inspired by the idea of using material to transmit electrical energy outside of performance, and during the pandemic used Google #Chrome to teach myself how to make my own silicone molds and resin form studies. I’ve been living with those little pieces of matter since then, and with Chrome’s support I’ve been deep in the webs learning how to fabricate these little forms into full scale copper monuments. #GooglePartner My research process is always macro and then micro, so I have a million tabs open, researching everything from Egyptian coppering techniques to using the sun and saltwater for metal oxidizing process. It’s been one thing to dream it, and one thing to bring it to life. I am so grateful to share these for a weekend u guys can go sit, read, flick up, or just exist amongst on the high-line. I’m a forever southern girl, but spend a lot of time in New York, and in some ways it’s become a new home to me. Crazy for these to live amongst all of you now.
