@nina_vaughn_acosta People are now the gatekeepers of who is Latino. It’s amazing that these kids, teens , adults are trying under the circumstances but immediately they are shut down. In the USA you have to speak perfect Spanish, have a degree in Spanish, get the citizenship of your parents country to be considered Latino. I completely understand her as half-Ecuadorian and half Cuban. It was pretty hard in the 80s, 90s learning and keeping up with Spanish if you didn’t live in Miami , LA, etc.

@tameralexander Notice how she said the mother speaks Spanish. That does not mean she is LATIN heritage. That just means she speaks the language. So why is this being used as some minority immigration tale
@melissaawp5678 Not true, in a past interview her mom said she had to learn to speak/ sing in Spanish for her Spanish album
