Smash Da Topic@smashdatopic An 18-year-old Texas mother, identified as Karla Ibarra, was arrested after police say she handed her 1-month-old son to a woman she had just met at a downtown San Antonio bus stop. The woman said Ibarra told her she wanted to give the baby away and handed over the child’s birth certificate and other documents. Authorities say Ibarra later left the baby at a nearby home before returning and being arrested. She faces a charge of abandoning and endangering a child with intent to return. The baby was placed with relatives through Child Protective Services. The report also notes that Texas’ Baby Moses Law allows parents to safely and anonymously surrender an unharmed newborn 60 days old or younger at designated locations such as hospitals, fire stations or EMS stations.
