Mature trees provide shade, reduce heat, support wildlife, improve air quality, and give a place character that new landscaping cannot instantly replace. Designing around a living tree requires careful planning and enough room for continued growth. When done properly, the result becomes more than a practical solution. It becomes a visible reminder that progress does not always require erasing what came first.
