Autumn is almost here...🍂 And the leaves are turning on the oak tree outside our building in Victoria Gardens, Leeds. But this isn't just any old oak tree, it’s actually an artwork by Joseph Beuys (1921–86), planted in 1998 as part of his ambitious project 7000 Oaks. Beuys began the project at Documenta 7 in Kassel in 1982 setting out to plant 7000 oak trees, which spread to a number of cities outside Germany. Passed by thousands of people every day, the tree has been growing with us in the centre of Leeds for almost 30 years. #autumnequinox #autumnequinox2026 #Leeds
