𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐬: 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐤 Subway maps are great examples of how information design can simplify and make even the most complex transport networks readable for basicelly everybody. The way these maps work is that they prioritize “topological accuracy” over geography, using only 90° and 45° angles. By stripping away real-world distances, they transform chaotic transit data into a clean, iconic visual language that helps millions navigate effortlessly. This colelction by Peter Doval shows the subway maps of 25 global, highlighting how diverse they are - depending on countless factors of the local urban and transport infrastructure.
