The private sector is crucial to advancing a more resilient maritime sector, but cannot do it alone. That’s why this morning, the UN @globalcompact convened for the High-Level Meeting on Maritime Governance and Decarbonisation during the 81st UN General Assembly. Together, business, finance and Governments meet to unlock investment and reinforce the critical role of maritime governance in supporting global trade, energy security and sustainable development. With stronger public-private collaboration, enabling regulatory frameworks, resilient infrastructure and continued innovation, the voyage ahead is clear. Through initiatives such as the Maritime Just Transition Task Force, the Global Compact is working with partners across sectors and regions to advance practical solutions for a safer, more sustainable ocean economy.
