Nintendo GameCube (2001-2007) The Nintendo GameCube, launched in 2001 to compete with the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, holds a place in gaming history thanks to its compact cube design, built-in handle, and proprietary mini optical discs. Driven by custom IBM and ATI hardware, it delivered impressive graphics and smooth performance despite its smaller disc capacity. Its controller, featuring an ergonomic button layout, analog click triggers, and the pioneering WaveBird wireless edition, remains widely celebrated today. Commercial sales suffered from a lack of DVD playback compared to competitors, but the console produced an extraordinary library of classics including Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2002), Metroid Prime (2002), and Resident Evil 4 (2005), giving it its reputation as a beloved cult favorite. @dat_suspect4040 My first console that wasn't a hand me down lol. my older brother gave me his snes and Sega. Its like I vividly remember at the checkout with my dad getting one. It was a different time back then for sure. Prices were different thats for sure lol

@palaeoloxodon_antiquus_ It's strange to see that color pattern for A and B button, the Blue color for A, and green color for B were the same colours of Nintendo 64 buttons, I guess why Nintendo later changed into green for A button and red for B button
