One year ago today, Cardi B dropped “Am I the Drama?” with one of the most creative rollouts in recent years Cardi B released “Am I The Drama?” and spent the following year actively driving its promotion through high-profile public appearances, live performances, and community pop-ups. Instead of concluding her marketing efforts at the album’s launch, she sustained the record’s visibility over twelve months by integrating it into a series of public events. Her Little Miss Drama Tour maintained constant media coverage by featuring guest appearances from artists including Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Megan Thee Stallion, Kehlani, Tyla, and Fetty Wap, while popularising the concert “mute challenge” online. Additionally, Cardi B kept the album tracks in rotation through major television and sports bookings, including an SNL musical guest slot, a live performance at the BET Awards, and a halftime show at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Square Garden backed by a live Latin band. Together, these moves turned the album’s release into a year-long campaign, keeping Am I The Drama? in the cultural conversation long after its initial drop and showing how Cardi B continued to find new ways to bring the project back to the spotlight.
