The Namib Pulse@namibpulse #Africa’s wealthiest man from Nigeria, Aliko Dangote, will be launching the development of his 2,650km fuel pipeline network from Walvis Bay this October.🛢️ The network will run from #Namibia through Botswana, with one route extending into South Africa and another connecting Zimbabwe, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Fuel refined at #Dangote’s refinery in Nigeria will be shipped by tanker to Walvis Bay before being stored and distributed inland through the proposed network. Dangote Industries is also advancing plans for a major petroleum storage facility on 68 hectares at Farm 58 near Walvis Bay, with earlier plans indicating capacity for at least 1.6 million barrels of petrol and diesel. The facility will receive fuel through #WalvisBay’s port infrastructure and serve as a distribution hub for Namibia and neighbouring markets. (📸: @bloomberg)
