Spain estimates around 10,000 migrants remain, with thousands sleeping in makeshift camps despite new temporary housing near the port for 1,700 people. The EU’s migration commissioner said images of the crossings have fueled support for far-right parties across Europe. Riot police fired rubber bullets into the air and used batons as Friday’s operation began. Traders predict a 15% chance Pedro Sánchez will be out as PM of Spain this year.
