Atmos@atmos Transforming the delicate into something monumental. Artist @rmanson creates immense moth and butterfly wings from thousands of individually shaped and glazed, pixel-like pieces of clay. To form microscopically detailed wings at an enormous scale, Manson and her team painstakingly arrange the pieces and glue them individually by hand. The artworks explore themes of nature, fragility, and beauty and play with the contradiction of permanence and transformation. “There’s this question about what’s happening during [a butterfly's] metamorphosis," Manson says.
