Today’s successful conclusion of the Ordinary Convention of Delegates marks another important milestone for the Built Environment & Urban Trades Employees’ Union (BATU). I sincerely thank our union leaders for their steadfast support, valuable contributions and commitment to advancing the interests of our members. As we look ahead, the Built Environment sector continues to face key challenges, including skills gaps and workforce development, technological change and digitalisation, and job security and decent working conditions. Addressing these will require stronger investment in training and upskilling, embracing innovation and digital skills, and continued advocacy for fair employment practices and sustainable jobs. I look forward to working together with our union leaders to turn the resolutions of the Convention into meaningful action and continue building a stronger future for our members and the sector.
