Looking up at the Eiffel Tower, I couldn’t help thinking of our Arts Centre spire back home. A little more modest, admittedly, but ours comes with a theatre built in and a tram out the front. It’s not my first time in Paris, but standing underneath the Eiffel Tower is still exciting. You know exactly what it looks like, yet being there and looking up at it still gets you. It got me thinking about how much I love seeing the Arts Centre spire when I’m heading in to see a show. There’s that excitement of a night at the theatre, with all these people coming together to tell a story and all of us turning up to see it. And those stories come from everywhere. As a first generation Australian myself, I love that people have brought so much of their world to Melbourne. The food we eat, the music we hear and the stories on our stages all reflect the different cultures that make up our city. We’ve got plenty to celebrate in that. I love getting out and seeing more of the world. It also reminds me how much I appreciate Melbourne and how lucky I am to call it home. #melbourne #theresnoplacelikehome
