Martin Henderson@martinhendersonofficial I don’t think I’ve ever had such a visceral, physical and emotional response to sculpture as I did yesterday at the @hayward.gallery seeing the works of #anishkapoor Anish chooses to not explain his work but instead allows it to speak for itself and allow the viewer to participate in a dialogue all their own and to ascribe meaning (or lack there of) and to have a personal experience. It delighted me, tickled me, challenged me, confused me, intrigued me, toyed with me and sometimes literally confused me as to which way was up. It imbued me with fear and also awe. But by far the emotion I was most grateful for and surprised by was the playful glee and enthusiasm I shared with the other gallery attendees, all of whom were adults, as we interacted with the works unable to contain the wonder and curiosity they evoked. If you are passing thru London or are fortunate enough to live here go see it. It won’t disappoint. Unless you’ve lost your sense of wonder and curiosity. In which case you should probably just go to the pub 🍻

@angillemarie So cool! Anish Kapoor’s artwork is inspirational. There are so many different shapes, sizes, and dimensions. I see expressions of infinity, continuity, and progression. It definitely makes you think about our human existence in relation to the entire universe.
