When I tell people I’m a beauty storyteller, I mean something much deeper than products, or trends. Beauty has always been a way for me to talk about the bigger things, like culture, identity, health, memory, representation, womanhood, and the stories that shape how we see ourselves and each other. I kicked off @tiff_net with “The Beauty of the Movies”, a night about beauty, film and representation—who we see on screen, how we’re seen, and what happens when we take control of telling our own stories. This is what beauty storytelling looks like to me. 🥂🎬 Thank you to @christinagcheng & @jennifermjoseph & @sohohouse Toronto and @sheamoistureca for partnering with me to bring the night to life, and to everyone who came, shared, laughed and made it what it was.
