After passing through the Strait of Belle Isle, heās now turned south into the Newfoundland Sea, raising new questions about how far north white sharks travel and what may be drawing them into these waters. Contender is the largest male white shark ever tagged by OCEARCH in the western North Atlantic. When he was tagged in January 2025, this adult male measured 13 ft. 9 in. and weighed an estimated 1,653 pounds. @brian.mcsherry Oh, that is interesting. I'm going to have to get that app. I've heard a little about this shark, mostly just about it's size, not the tracking data. Very cool.
