Since @ralphlauren showed his latest collection today, I thought I would share a little fashion-show throwback from 1990—when I was working behind the scenes as a design assistant. As a design assistant, you couldn’t leave until you were told you could, which often meant sitting around for hours into the night. Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) was waiting with us for Yasmin (supermodel) while she was getting fitted for the show, and we were all so tired and bored that we started having fun with the Polaroids. He happily went along with it—and, of course, I always had a camera! We would stay until five or six in the morning, run home to change, and come straight back to have everything ready for the 8:30 a.m. show in the showroom. This was right before I left Ralph Lauren to begin my next chapter at Vogue. What an extraordinary time in fashion—and what memories. 🤍 #nyfashionweek #throwback #simonlebon #duranduran #ralphlauren

@marcywarren Ty for the share Ann. I remember those days too. When I first started in fashion the rolling racks were still being pushed down 7th avenue. What a time it was . Chic, glamorous and fun!
