Jeff Berardelli@weatherprofjeffberardelli WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?! 🌀🌀 With peak season upon us, and luckily nothing in our near future, I want to share with you what I consider an astonishing visual. 25 years, 5 towns, 2X 🌀 Considering there have only been 18 “direct landfall” hits on #Florida since 1999, on 1300 miles+ of coastline, the chances that 11 of these would be involved in double (triple) jeopardy is extraordinarily small. Punta Gorda-Ft Myers: Charley + Ian Pensacola: Ivan + Sally+(Dennis) Perry: Idalia + Helene Fort Pierce/Stuart: Frances + Jeanne Big Pine Key: Irene + Irma (Dennis wasn’t the exact same landfall location as Ivan and Sally, but darn close) Of course 5 of these storms went on to crisscross Central #florida, hitting the same cities esp. in Polk County over and over again. Charley, Frances, Jeanne, and Ian - Irma too! Crazy odds. #hurricane #hurricaneseason
