Today, government introduced legislation that will help put more money in workers' pockets. Changes to the Labour Standards Code will: -- Lower the overtime threshold from 48 hours per week to 44, so workers qualify for overtime pay sooner -- Expand overtime eligibility so workers earn overtime pay when extra hours are voluntary and permitted, not just when required by the employer -- Ensure tips and gratuities go to the people who earn them -- Give government new tools to help recover unpaid earnings owed to workers by their employer These changes will help workers earn more, keep more of what they earn and recover money they are owed. @jweavrr Can we just cut out income tax all together? Paying tax on your labour was "supposed" to be a wartime measure. Paying tax so you can afford to pay more taxes is immoral, let people thrive and then in turn the province will thrive @timhoustonns
