City of El Cerrito@cityofelcerrito $13.1 Million in State funding approved to make San Pablo Ave smoother and safer in El Cerrito! Thank you to the California Transportation Commission and our partners at @officialcaltranshq for making this project possible. Thanks also to our local representatives @asmbuffywicks and @senatorarreguin, as well as our advocates at the California Public Policy Group, for fighting for the urgency of these safety and pavement improvements that are critical to our community. The Project includes a $13,113,000 investment from the State in San Pablo Avenue in the city of El Cerrito, from the Alameda County line to I-80 near Cutting Boulevard and will include: 🚗Pavement Rehabilitation: New asphalt pavement between both curbs in both directions of travel 🛣️Curb & Gutter: Replacing damaged sections of the curb and gutter at multiple locations 🌳Sidewalk & Street Trees: Replacing damaged sidewalks at three locations. Removing and adding new street trees at 16 locations 🚸Road Safety & Complete Streets: Adding new safety lighting, high-visibility signage and improved pavement markings at crosswalks, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons at San Pablo Ave/Carlos Ave and San Pablo Ave/Sacramento Ave The project is scheduled to begin construction in early 2027. @trust_in_rust Far too many side streets access the main avenue. Carefully select some main arterial streets and signalize them, eliminate access for the rest to increase safety and efficiency.
@outlinegci We are a construction company located on San Pablo Ave., between Stockton Ave. and Eureka Ave. We believe this particular section of San Pablo Ave. needs a safety solution, as the offset/curve in the roadway creates significant issues. Over the past three years, two of our vehicles have been totaled while parked outside our business. Last year, a bread delivery truck also crashed into the business next door, and we are now helping with the repairs. The biggest concern is that vehicles travel through this section far too fast, especially considering the curve and the businesses located along the street. We believe some type of traffic-calming measure, improved signage, barriers, or other safety solution could help prevent another serious accident. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss possible solutions and see what can be done to make this section of San Pablo Ave. safer for businesses, pedestrians, and drivers.

@pretrender You should’ve worked with Bart to make the greenway safer instead of adding all of these bike lanes people don’t even use. Whoever had a hand in taking away two lanes on San Pablo and cutting and make the intersection more complicated on San Pablo and Eastshore should not be in public service.
