Some movies take a few months to make. Others spend years — or even decades — fighting their way to the screen. Avatar spent years in development while James Cameron waited for technology to catch up with his vision. Mad Max: Fury Road endured more than a decade of delays before cameras finally rolled, while The Man Who Killed Don Quixote survived failed productions and casting changes before finally premiering nearly 30 years after Terry Gilliam first began pursuing it. Then there are the truly extreme cases. Richard Williams spent decades working on The Thief and the Cobbler, Francis Ford Coppola developed Megalopolis across more than 40 years, and Orson Welles began shooting The Other Side of the Wind in 1970 — only for the completed film to finally be released in 2018. Sometimes getting a movie onto the screen is a story almost as incredible as the movie itself. 🎬

@desabafoscomagigi How long it took the movie to actually come out doesn’t count as how long it took to make it. How about you count that one movie where the main character grew up while making ONE movie for 13 years straight
