The Ministry of Industries, Mines & Energy (MIME) has announced a nationwide fuel price increase, with petrol rising by N$0.60 per litre and both diesel grades increasing by N$1.60 per litre, effective Wednesday (September 2nd). ⛽️ The new per litre pump prices for #WalvisBay (national price anchor) will be N$25.08 for Petrol 95, N$27.86 for Diesel 50ppm, and N$27.96 for Diesel 10ppm, with prices in all other towns adjusting according to the transport differential. The increase comes as international fuel prices and shipping costs have risen, partly due to continued disruptions affecting oil shipments through the Strait of #Hormuz. MIME also increased the road user charge levy (a fee included in every litre of fuel sold to help fund #Namibia’s road network) by N$0.30 per litre, from N$2.43 to N$2.73. The additional revenue will be used to fund priority feeder road projects across the country.
