culturelogy@culturelogy Realizing we’re only 4 months away from 2017 being 10 years ago 🤒 The realization that 2017 is only four months away from being a full decade ago is a lot to process. For hip-hop fans, that year feels like it was just yesterday, with SoundCloud rap, melodic trap, and a wave of new artists completely changing the sound of the culture. 2017 was also packed with defining releases, from Playboi Carti’s self-titled project and “Magnolia” to Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO TOUR Llif3” and Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN.. So many of the songs and albums that shaped that era are now approaching their 10-year anniversary. As 2027 gets closer, revisiting the music from 2017 hits differently. What once felt like the current era is slowly becoming nostalgia, reminding us just how quickly time has passed while proving that the music from that period still holds up. #2017 #rap #hiphop
