The Reassuring Data on HRT Just Keep Pouring In: Drawing from a global health-record network containing data from approximately 111 million patients, researchers assembled 95,845 matched pairs of HRT users and non-users, for this 2026 observational study.   The findings add reassuring long-term evidence about postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy, particularly for women who started HRT by age 60. They also provide valuable information for individualized, shared decision-making.   Source: Lu TF et al. Hum Reprod Open. 2026;2026(3). doi:10.1093/hropen/hoag072

@vsmehta2025 So what about older women and HRT. Those ones who missed out because of the study done that frightened everyone.

@ellen_veenstrabakker I still don’t understand how HRT (estrogene) can lower risk of breastcancer and on the other side I am not allowed to take HRT (estrogene) because of my breastcancer. Why Will it not prevents that the Cancer comes back? There is a lot of mystery for me.

@valconley The study excluded women with a history of thrombophilia or prior blood clots (VTE). The reported "lower hazard of blood clots" applies only to a pre-screened, healthy baseline population. For anyone with a personal history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or an underlying clotting disorder, the risk dynamic is entirely different.

@nksmasmg If you started therapy right away at menopause diagnosis, do the benefits continue, and also is it safe to continue using indefinitely? I don’t have a dr that is super big on HRT. Thankfully she is willing to prescribe it for me, but i know i won’t get an informed or unbiased answer to those questions.
