Which size hits the Carrera sweet spot? And no, 40 mm isn’t an option (yet). TAG Heuer now has steel Carrera chronographs at 39, 41 and 42 mm, all built around the TH20 movement family. But these are not simply three sizes of the same watch. The 39 mm is the most heritage-leaning of the trio. Its panda dial takes its clearest cue from the late-1960s 7753 SN, while the compact Glassbox case keeps the overall expression close to the visual language that made the Carrera famous. Inside, the TH20-00 brings a date and 80 hours of power reserve. At 41 mm, the formula changes. The Glassbox remains, but the dial becomes a balanced, date-free tricompax, the bracelet moves to a seven-row construction, and the movement to the TH20-01. Only two millimetres larger, yet distinctly different in character. The new 42 mm Carrera Chronograph Sport changes it again. TAG Heuer has reduced the previous 44 mm case to 42 mm, cut the thickness from 15.48 to 14.17 mm and shortened the lug-to-lug from 49.8 to 48.6 mm. An external ceramic tachymeter bezel, H-shaped bracelet and the TH20-00 with date move it firmly towards the sportier end of the Carrera family.

@jimmylimkopitime It is always interesting that the lug-to-lug and strap measurements of these models are hidden even on Tag's website, because they are so odd. The strange strap size was a deal breaker for me on the 39mm models😢

@nick_graminsta Dovrebbero prendere il 42mm, ridurlo nelle dimensioni (facciamo 40mm), sostituire gli indici a numeri arabi con gli indici a bastoni ed eliminare la data. Infine lasciare il bracciale che ha già, ma sostituendo la chiusura a farfalla con una clasp classica. Ecco a voi il cronografo perfetto firmato tag heuer!
