The Namib Pulse@namibpulse #Namibia has been ranked the second-quietest country in the world in Go2Africa’s 2026 Noise-Free Nations Index, placing only behind #Bhutan. The ranking assessed countries based on factors including population and tourist density, rural and protected land, vehicle numbers, airports, and railway infrastructure. Namibia’s high ranking was largely driven by its vast land area and low population density, with around 3.7 people per square kilometre. Large sparsely populated areas such as the Namib Desert and Skeleton Coast, combined with relatively limited transport infrastructure and human activity across much of the country, contributed to its position. #Botswana ranked third, followed by #Zambia and #Gabon.
