It was a pleasure to meet with Amb. Togolani Edriss Mavura, Permanent Representative of Tanzania to the United Nations, to discuss the work of the UN @globalcompact and how our private sector participants drive business, trade and investment around the world. It was insightful to reflect on the important milestones of the Global Compact — over 25 years of existence, with our business participants representing close to 25% of globally traded shares as well as catalytic, innovative work to build capabilities within the SME sector. We discussed the work of the Global Compact Country Network Tanzania (@globalcompacttanzania) in growing private sector engagement in responsible business and in public-private partnerships, as well as the work of the @Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI).
