The Rural Craft and Cultural Hubs (RCCH) project supports 25,000 artisans and folk artists across 20 districts of West Bengal, working across 35 traditional crafts and performing art forms, from Kantha embroidery to Dokra metal casting to Baul folk music. Sabai grass craft is one of them, practiced by artisans in Jhargram who traditionally made simple rope for local markets, and are now building livelihoods around it.
