Of all of the things this job has shown me, it’s that being in the right place at the right time can change everything. Story Time ✨✨✨ On a random Friday in May in the middle of the day, Eric walked up to me on the street in Boston while I was photographing another couple by myself in a bustling North End. He said he was recently engaged and we exchanged information quickly and went on our way. Flash forward two months and he and India were meeting us again, this time, for their own photos. When we asked how they met they explained that it was a chance encounter at a concert that neither of them really expected to be at. Just the right place at the right time, you know? India told me their proposal was so special in part because after Eric asked her, a rainbow appeared in a cloud over the ocean in Newport, RI as they walked off together. Just in the right place at the right time. Last night as the sun dipped and we walked the docks down by India’s grandmother’s home, she pointed to the sky. There in the clouds was a perfect rainbow just like the one she had described to me an hour earlier. Again, right place, right time✨ Sometime on the way home last night as I sat with how magical this moment felt I realized that I had been in the right place at the right time, too. Meeting any of you so that we can make art together always feels like a little more than chance in a way that has kept me curious and falling in love with the universe again and again— and so here is a little appreciation post for that 💞 So much love and thanks to these two for their trust + time!
