So on Friday I won an @attitudemag award… which was presented to me by @flolikethis which made my day because I love them so much and know how busy they are so thank you again girls. ❤️ I had to go up and do a speech which I always find so nerve racking but if I’m being honest it was a really lovely boost of confidence I think I needed, being an artist isn’t easy! Especially a queer black one at that! I popped 2 albums out in 2 years and have achieved so much in my career that I couldn’t be more grateful for… but from time to time my brain likes to tell me I’m not good enough, or that my music isn’t exciting enough especially if I’m in a period of feeling uninspired, so Friday was a really lovely moment to be around peers and really feel the love. Thought I’d be honest to you guys so you know it’s not all sunshine and rainbows when creating art, doubt always loves to creep in. So thank you so much attitude for this beautiful award. It means more than you know, I’m the woman I am today because of the love I have around me. X
