He changes a defense the second he walks in the building. But Jared Verse was not just some throw-in piece. Verse looked like a young cornerstone for the Rams defense, the type of pass rusher you usually try to keep next to your stars instead of moving off of him before he even hits his prime. That’s why so many NFL fans are debating the trade package, the value, and whether Los Angeles gave up too much to land Garrett. The Rams got the superstar. But losing Verse is what makes this one complicated.

@mdh25a For a team that was concerned enough on the present to use their 13 overall pick on Ty Simpson it’s clear they wanna try and compete now and later. Feel like keeping Verse and the capital would’ve made better since for that strategy especially since most people already had them as NFC favorites anyways other than maybe the Seahawks.

@thelifeof__fj man LA fans cant be happy for shit bro, as a browns fan, Aaron donald at 30-31 won you guys a damn ring and had arguably one of his best seasons ever, myles garrett had an even better season and HIS greatest season at 30 years old and literally one of the greatest individual seasons we have seen from a defensive player, both sides won this trade but us browns fans have to deal with a full rebuild while you guys are now top contenders. Im not mad about the trade either bc we have so much young talent and a good future, but you guys are genuine top contenders, im honestly just mad abt yall whining lmao

Stafford is gone in 1-2 years, davante isn’t playing for much longer, puka needs to be paid. that you defensive front would have to be paid as well. Its a house of cards that will stand just long enough to reach the peak. So if you were the rams and your superbowl window was 1-2 years, would you rather have a top teir edge rusher for many years but with a lower chance at that ring? Or would you like rhe greatest edge of our generation for 1-2 years who will make you superbowl favorites???

@leodushek1 If I were the rams I wouldn’t even do a trade like this bc they just extended their best players contracts and have no money left and gave the rest of there money for Myles Garrett which leads to Puka Nacua either getting traded this season or not getting signed bc knowing Puka would want a huge contract
