@breadsandscones Given that the adaptations include massive plot changes and dropping characters (like where is Daroga in 99% of the adaptations?) the first thing I’d do in adapting the text would be to nix the age gap stuff entirely. That’s my personal feelings about it.

@gregorylico Yeah, now that I’ve read this. I kind of wanna believe that she’s about 21. Because if she was a teenager and that makes the Phantom you know when it’s late 40s it really is creepy.

@kalex814 I don't think the ages of the actresses have anything to do with Christine's age. That's just a product of the illusion of theatre. I've seen women in their 50s play Juliet, for example.
