Atlantic City closed beaches due to extreme rip currents and 8-10 foot wave surges, and officials urged residents to move vehicles to higher ground ahead of non-nuisance flooding.

FOX Weather noted that nine Jersey Shore towns received new sand replenishment from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers earlier in 2026, and this storm will test the durability of those dunes against erosion. A high surf advisory and rip current warning remain in effect until Saturday evening, making conditions dangerous for swimmers and surfers.
