These shots taken from Castleton-on-Hudson, New York, Nassau, New York, and Coxsackie, New York. The opening shots are from Castleton-on-Hudson as the Muitzeskill creek took over this neighborhood. This is absolutely devastating with many homes and infrastructure lost with this. My thoughts are with everyone impacted by this awful flash flooding event π #newyork #flood #weather #rain #storm

@uncommonsense777 This isn't "climate change" It's due to THOUSANDS of acres of asphalt, concrete, and roofs dumping trillions of gallons of storm water onto the GROUND instead of into a storm sewer system. This problem didn't exist back when downspouts went directly into sewer systems. EPA regulations removed them and instead dumped trillions of gallons onto lawns, parking lots, and streets where it quickly clogged storm drains and overwhelmed flood controls, creeks and streams. Now the only hope is a massive trillion dollar federal program to upgrade storm water management across the nation. 100 year old systems weren't designed to handle million square foot box stores, warehouses, mega malls, and thousand acre developments.
