Never Forget 9/11.... I was with my Dad that day at 1333 Broadway in NYC. I'll never forget it and for the young who were not born then, my memory of that day in NYC are not like old videos that you will see aired, my memories are crystal clear in HD. It's just not something you forget, it's something that becomes part of you, something you carry with you, something that is easy to access in your mind and something you never forget . I remember so much of that day, however I choose to focus on the beauty I saw in such tragedy. The attacks were designed, to tear us down, to instill fear in us, to create doubt in the future of our lives and country. But it had the opposite effect, it strengthened us, it strengthened our resolve, it brought out the best in us for a while, it enhanced our humanity and capacity for goodness. I will never forget the heroism and generosity to try to help people to be whole again, to help people get back on their feet again and to let all of the people who were effected by the attack to know that we are with you, you have our support, we care about you and we will do more than our best to help you. I saw proof of how good we can be, and that gave me hope for better days to come. There will always be people in our lives that will do awful things to get ahead, to forward their agenda . They will lie, deceive, manipulate, cause harm and despite these attempts we must never allow them to bring us down to their low level. Instead I hope people remember what I think is the greatest lesson of 9/11, which was to bury the hate and evil acts by doing kind acts to help others. Don't rely on others to make the world a better place, start with yourself, just doing one kind act a day can make the world a better place. #neverfoget #911 #nypd #fdny
