Time to listen up folks. I've been posting on our story about concerning morning model runs in regards to this system. The Weather Prediction Center has upgraded the slight risk to a MODERATE RISK (level 3 out of 4) for areas of major flash flooding tonight through Wednesday. The first image shows the moderate risk (RED COLOR) through 8 AM Wednesday with the second image showing the moderate risk through 8 AM Thursday. Much of CT, western MA including parts of Worcester county into southern Vermont are included in that moderate risk with a slight risk elsewhere. A blend of mesoscale models show the potential for 6-10" of rain in western SNE into southern Vermont. Don't focus on the exact numbers but know the potential is certainly there. This system is no joke. Again, this continues through the entire day Wednesday and some rain lingers into Thursday but becoming lighter. There are certainly some comparisons to the 2023 catastrophic flooding in southern Vermont although this looks to be focused a bit more south than Ludlow, VT but not by much. Only time will tell how bad this will be. This isn't a guarantee repeat by any means right now. Just know the potential is certainly there for major flash flooding in spots. Stay alert, check back for updates on our story for the most frequent updates and have a quick way to evacuate if needed. I will be chasing this.
